Building works are moving along slowly but surely. The extended kitchen area and store room are almost completed. The kitchen is so much more spacious now with natural light from a skylight making the whole area lighter and brighter. We expect that the outdoor area will be started by the time you read this.
The Committee of management is hoping to organise another Working Bee in September, this time with students from Upper Plenty Primary School, to complete this year’s planting program. We hope to have the pathways installed within the next few months. Thanks to Rob Johnson who has promised to spread the rest of the mulch once the ground dries out.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Kilmore, Sunday – The body of Norman Henry Christofferson, 27 years of age, was found in the bush at Upper Plenty on Friday by James Mahady. Christofferson, who was a returned soldier, had stayed at Mr. Mahady’s and stating that he was going rabbit shooting left the house with a pea rifle. When the body was found there was a bullet wound in the right temple. An inquiry was held before Mr. T. Hunt J.P., deputy coroner, at Kilmore and a verdict recorded that death was due to a gunshot wound self-inflicted.
