Meeting opened: 1:05 pm

2. Meeting times
Meetings to be held monthly before the third Thursday of the month; day and time to rotate to try to accommodate all varying needs of community/ committee members.
3. Robert Gordon
Copies of a DVD that was taped at his Reedy Creek appearance will be available to borrow for community members to view and circulate see Hayley or Alison for these.
4. School Children Still Experiencing Some Recovery Issues
Rose to contact Kim Tierney to discuss concerns of some children still experiencing difficulty in the recovery process.
Hayley to research Andrew Fuller (child psychologist) for some ideas for assisting families of these children in ways to help them in their recovery.
CAMS Child and Adolescent Mental Health in Seymour could be a possible place of contact for information.
5. Tradies Available
Any local tradies that wish to work in the Upper Plenty refurb to at the Shack can put their names and contact details down as an expression of interest at the Upper Plenty Monthly BBQ (Alison to put up butchers paper for this.)
Expressions of interest also to be advertised in the local paper.
6. Nick Haslinghaus is the engineer responsible for managing the whole works project for Upper Plenty. A project manager will be appointed to liase with the committee regarding the scope of works. Money is yet to be allocated for the project.
7. Funding Available for community social events.
Any organised event must have insurance organised to cover the event. You must have a certificate of insurance. Jackie from Mitchell Shire has been very successful in negotiating discounts with various firms, so perhaps ask her help in doing so.
MCRAG has some funds available for community activities. There are various criteria that need to be met in order to obtain funding for such activities, and you have to have an organised plan with all costs totalled before applying for any funding.
Deirdre to investigate a mobile pampering package for a ladies night.
Alison to put up butchers paper for suggestions for the ladies to list ideas.
Reedy Creek have organised and paid for a men’s group outing on the 22nd of May.
8. Monthly BBQ
Kris Faltis is withdrawing from organising the community BBQ. A very big thank you to her for organising them in the past, and bringing the community together.
While the monthly meeting at the Shack will continue, the sausage sizzle will be postponed until further funding is available. People are still asked to bring a plate to share as normal.
Fee for the hall must be covered.
9. Stay Connected
This informative newsletter will become a quarterly event. Thanks Rose for all your hard work!
10. Community Grants
Mitchell Shire Website has a list of grants that can be applied for.
Rose to get application forms through the Shack Committee.
Funding through council for Stay Connected is ending. Money will come through admin funds (motion moved by Hayley and seconded by Alison) $200 to be paid to Rose King for the production of the quarterly newsletter for the next 12 months. Motion passed.
Hayley to email Kelisha using the code and a cheque or direct deposit can be paid to Rose.
Rose motioned to fund Secretary and Treasurer’s committee costs reimbursed. Alison seconded. Reimbursements allow the GST to be claimed and saved. Motion passed.
11. 3 hour Work Shop by Beyond Blue
Workshop to develop communication skills when interacting with people affected by trauma.
6:30pm 25th May, 2010 at the Australiana in Wandong. Dinner is included. Contact Jackie from Mitchell Community Health. Five people from the community have already requested to attend this.
12. MCRAG Reps
Rose motioned for Hayley and Alison to still attend the monthly MCRAG meetings. Gillian seconded this. Motion passed.
13. Next Meeting Scheduled
Thursday 10th June 1pm at the Shack.
